Corporate Leaders Groups

Business leadership for a climate neutral economy
CLG Africa

CLG Africa aims to be the leading cross-sectorial business voice in Africa engaging on policy issues focused on deliberate sustainable development within local and regional contexts through intentional leadership.

About

The Corporate Leaders Group Africa (CLG Africa) convenes thought leadership platforms for corporate leaders in African countries to engage policy issues, with a focus on sustainable development in the local and regional context. We carry out our work through chapters. We currently have two chapters: the Corporate Affairs Leadership Forum (CALF) in South Africa and the Sustainability Leadership Forum (SLF) in Kenya. All our chapters are run in partnership with locally-based organisations. In South Africa, we have partnered with the Wits School of Governance and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. CALF is a thought leadership platform to exchange and drive private sector transformation for South Africa’s sustainable development. In East Africa, CLG Africa and Safaricom co-convene a group of senior corporate sustainability executives in Nairobi to promote partnerships and innovation in policy to meet East Africa’s sustainable development goals.

By convening these platforms, CLG Africa builds on the rich heritage of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s expertise and foresight, enabling businesses to collectively drive Africa’s sustainable development agenda.

Mission

CLG Africa’s mission is to activate continent-wide leadership by convening business voices to engage on and actively promote policies that drive sustainable development. This is underpinned by business credibility, cutting-edge insight and foresight gained from harnessing CLG Africa’s global network.
