Business leadership for a climate neutral economy

08 May 2025 - Yesterday, CISL Europe celebrated its first year in the #SustainableHub, now Norrsken House Brussels with CISL CEO Lindsay Hooper.

It was great to have this opportunity to bring our friends together in our new office space for an informal gathering to discuss how to maintain momentum on a competitive and sustainable transition. Participants were a mix of CISL alumni – both employees and education, CLG Europe members and potential members and stakeholders in our policy space from think tanks, trade associations and institutions.

Lindsay  spoke about CISL’s new strategy and the newly published Competing in the Age of Disruption report. Ursula Woodburn, Director of CLG Europe, opened the event, followed by a fireside chat between Lindsay Hooper, Caroline Read the Deputy Ambassador of UK Mission to the EU and Titta Rosvall-Puplett CSO of Syensqo.

The discussions highlighted how sustainability is core to our future competitiveness. Policies will be critical towards overcoming persistent market barriers and supporting businesses in the shift from compliance to transformation. Achieving real progress demands that business speaks up on the necessary enabling policies and the need for political ambition. Strategic collaboration between partners will be essential – whether businesses along their supply and value chains, or working with policy makers or new bridges between the EU and the UK in the new geopolitical context – alongside a narrative grounded in value creation, resilience, and shared benefit.

Lindsay also took the opportunity in Brussels to meet with the CISL Europe team as well as some interesting stakeholders including Clean Tech Europe and Syensqo.
