Business leadership for a climate neutral economy

21 July 2021 - Organised with the support of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), this virtual event was an opportunity for representatives of the Green Growth Group, Members of the European Parliament and business to provide initial reactions to the publication of the Fit for 55 Package by the European Commission on 14 July, exchange perspectives and formulate recommendations on the way forward to achieve climate objectives and the transition towards a prosperous, competitive and climate neutral Europe. The event took place before Environment Ministers exchange their views on the Package during the informal Environment Council meeting on 20-21 July.

Prior to the event CLG Europe coordinated a letter on the Fit for 55 Package signed by more than 50 businesses and business organisations which sets out 10 principles for the upcoming Package.

The session brought together Green Growth Group, MEPs and high-level business representatives, ending with a Q&A. You can watch the recording below.
