26 March 2025 - Today, the Chancellor of the Exchequer delivered the 2025 Spring Statement in the House of Commons. Bev Cornaby, CLG UK Director, provided a rapid reaction to the contents of the statement.
The Spring Statement updated Parliament and the nation on the economy, public finances and progress against the government's economic objectives.
Bev Cornaby, Director of the UK Corporate Leaders Group, said:
"As budgets tighten, the UK needs to keep focused on an economic strategy that delivers long-term sustainable growth – including investing in clean power and getting away from our dependence on imported fossil fuels."
