30 April 2025 - Senior members of the UK Corporate Leaders Group (CLG UK) met to discuss the evolving context of climate leadership, business confidence, and future of climate advocacy.
Amid geopolitical and economic volatility, sustainability has become a political fault line, shifting the landscape for climate leadership. The roundtable brought together senior members of CLG UK to discuss a new narrative that links green investment and growth through the lens of competitive sustainability and national security. We were joined by Lindsay Hooper, CEO, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and Dr Marc Kahn, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, Investec.
Lindsay spoke to how a global industrial and economic transition is underway. Businesses and investors have a critical role to play - not only in managing risk but also in reshaping markets and the rules that govern them. Those who act now to accelerate transition will gain a powerful early-mover advantage, set future standards, and influence the direction of policy and capital flows. Read more in Lindsay's recent report, Competing in the Age of Disruption.
Dr Marc Kahn provided a financial perspective on linking the sustainability and growth storylines, guiding an engaging discussion with members.
