Business leadership for a climate neutral economy

2 November 2014 – The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group (CLG) welcomed the release of the Synthesis Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Fifth Assessment Report (IPCC AR5).

Philippe Joubert, Chair of the CLG said: “The findings of this report are required reading for government offices and boardrooms around the world.” He goes on to say that the scientific report reaffirms the scale of the climate change threat and that whilst many business are investing in a low carbon future “if we are to unlock the scale of change that we need, we must have a level of policy clarity equal to this scientific clarity.” This message is further reinforced by a statement from We Mean Business, a coalition of influential business organisations, co-founded by the CLG. The statement which is also released today states that “more than ever, business recognises that climate change is one of the greatest risks we face – and that tackling it is also one of our biggest economic opportunities”.
