Corporate Leaders Groups

Business leadership for a climate neutral economy

23 September 2014 – The Corporate Leaders Group (CLG) will be represented at the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon’s Climate Summit, amongst Heads of State, Government, business, finance, and civil society climate leaders from across the globe.

As well as attending the climate summit, we will also be closely involved in three important events. The first is a roundtable discussion on Carbon Pricing binging together business leaders on this critical issue, jointly hosted with the World Bank, World Economic Forum and the We Mean Business coalition, of which the CLG is an active partner. This will build on the work that the CLG team have been doing with the World Bank on their latest carbon pricing initiative, of which the CLG’s Carbon Price Communiqué is a part.

The second event, held in the Empire State Building, will feature Executive Secretary of the UNFCC, Christiana Figueres, along with corporate signatories of The Trillion Tonne Communiqué, founders of Track Zero, and city stakeholders, all exploring the role of cities in helping us meet our goal of net zero emissions, highlighted in The Communiqué. The CLG will also be hosting a breakfast Green Growth roundtable with business leaders and policymakers to debrief the summit and discuss next steps to Lima and Paris.
