The Corporate Leaders Group, business leaders, policymakers and academics recognise the need for bold business leadership ahead of and beyond the crucial UN climate talks in Paris in December.
In January, the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) brought together more than 300 business leaders, policymakers, academics and environmentalists to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group (CLG), and to reflect on the achievements of the group and the wider business community in addressing the threat of climate change.
HRH The Prince of Wales; José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission 2004–2014; Connie Hedegaard, European Commissioner for Climate Action 2010–2014; and Sir Ian Cheshire, former Chief Executive of Kingfisher plc were among the high-level speakers.
The CLG also took the opportunity to look to the months and years ahead, recognising the need for bold business leadership ahead of and beyond the crucial UN climate talks in Paris in December and launching A Vision for a Strong, Sustainable UK Economy.
There were also roundtable discussions on themes such as unlocking low carbon investment and reshaping EU trade relationships in the context of a new climate economy.
