21 June 2018 – The building sector is one of the most resource-intensive sectors in Europe, accounting for approximately half of all extracted materials, half of total energy consumption, one third of water consumption and one third of waste generation.

A letter from leading European and UK companies and investors urges both the UK and EU27 to commit to continuing to work together to meet the commitments set out in the Paris Agreement, in any future relationship. It says “As leading European and UK companies and investors, we recognise that climate change poses one of the greatest long-term threats to our economies and societies. We strongly urge both the UK and EU27 to commit to continuing to work together to meet the commitments set out in the Paris Agreement, in any future relationship.”
