EU leaders tell Green Growth Summit ‘we are not backtracking’ on climate objectives

The Green Growth Partnership (GGP) is a joint initiative between members of CLG Europe and ministers of the Green Growth Group (GGG). It provides a forum to promote positive exchange between progressive European governments and businesses, with regular involvement of like-minded parliamentarians, and other key stakeholders and opinion formers, determined to support the development of a climate neutral and prosperous Europe.

The 2019 GGP Summit ‘Achieving a prosperous and climate neutral future: From vision to reality’, brought together high-level representatives from EU Member States, including Ministers and State Secretaries, the EU institutions, business and civil society to discuss the drivers and conditions for the transition towards a climate neutral economy by 2050.

3 October 2019 – A new policy briefing from Corporate Leaders Group Europe (CLG Europe), a business leadership group convened by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), sets out approaches for how business can reduce industrial emissions to net-zero by 2050 and calls on EU policymakers to deliver a clean and circular industrial strategy.

December 2017 – The EU GGP secretariat’s work on long-term planning began ahead of COP22 in Marrakech where it released a policy briefing title ‘Future Proofing: Sustainable plans for prosperous economies’.
